CATCH THE TROJAN SPIRIT!
Jenks Trojan Athletics Cheer & Pom is open to all girls in 1st through 7th grades enrolled in Jenks Public Schools. Our goal is to make all girls feel included, learn about teamwork, school spirit, and to have fun. No athletic or dance ability is required. It's a great way for girls to learn about football and become skilled at cheer technique. All cheerleaders are awarded a trophy at the end of football season.
MIGHTY MITE CHEER
Squads are made up of first and second grade girls. It's a great way for little girls to make new friends, learn cheer techniques, get some exercise, and have lots of fun. Plus they get to wear a real cheer uniform, just like the big girls do! Mighty Mite cheerleaders go to cheer camp in the summer. They practice once a week for an hour, and cheer at the Mighty Mite football games on Saturdays.
3RD THROUGH 7TH GRADE CHEER
Girls learn a half-time routine and stunting at Cheer Camp in the summer (usually end of July). Throughout football season they practice once a week and learn lots of great cheers, chants, jumps and moves. They cheer for Jenks football teams and perform at half time. They also participate in the Jenks Homecoming Parade in October. Some squads may choose to extend the season by participating in competitions.
6TH AND 7TH GRADE POM
Pom squads are more dance technique focused than cheer, and is only open to girls in 6th and 7th grades. Pom girls attend Pom Camp in the summer (usually end of July) to learn a half-time routine and brush up on turns, leaps, and dance skills. Throughout football season they practice once a week and learn lots of great cheers and Pom routines. They will cheer for Jenks football teams and perform at half time. They also participate in the Jenks Homecoming Parade in October.
